How This Casino Dene Site Works

This is an independent guide to Casino Dene, signed by its editorial desk, the North Shore desk. It is not Casino Dene's website and takes no bets.

Who writes the guide

The North Shore desk, an editorial team with no single named author, writes and signs each page of this guide. The desk runs no casino, and the guide stands apart from Casino Dene's own website. No bets can be placed and no accounts opened on the Cold Lake Casino guide.

No casino pays the North Shore desk. The same holds for AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis), Play Alberta, the Alberta iGaming Corporation and every help service, and no link to any of them is paid. The guide hands out no ratings, scores, stars or reviews.

Letters for the North Shore desk can be sent to inbox@coldlakecasino.com. Readers may report an error on a page, a door closing time that differs from this site, or ask about the method. This mailbox serves the guide, not Casino Dene, so anything meant for the casino goes by phone to 780-594-7900.

How facts are checked

On October 5, 2026, the North Shore desk went through every fact in this guide. Its sources were Casino Dene's own pages, Hotel Dene's website, AGLC, and OpenStreetMap for map points. When figures differ between the casino's pages, the guide reports only what every one of them supports.

Opening time shows how this works. Casino Dene's doors are open daily from 11 am at the latest, so the guide writes "by 11 am". An earlier opening is not confirmed, and 780-594-7900 is the number to call about it. Since the casino lists no holiday hours, check with it or on casinodene.com before a holiday visit.

Distances are straight lines between two map points: the casino's point and each town's centre point. They are not driving distances.

How the site is paid for

Cold Lake Casino pays its way through a commission on links marked Ad, and the guide's inner pages carry none of them. The three links appear only on the guide's front page. The first sits in the site menu, the second in a block just under the opening view, and the third near the foot of that page. All three lead to a single online casino, which is the guide's current partner. The North Shore desk notes that this partner is not fixed and could later be swapped for another.

Behind the guide's paid links sits a private online casino, selected by the site's link partner. This casino is neither Play Alberta nor operated by AGLC or the Alberta iGaming Corporation. Casino Dene and Cold Lake First Nations have no link to it. The guide does not state that this partner holds Alberta registration. Its status, like any online operator's, can be looked up at abigaming.ca, the directory kept by the Alberta iGaming Corporation.

About the pictures

The guide's pictures were all produced with image-generation software, so none of them is a photograph. The slot machines on the Games page were made from real photographs taken at Casino Dene. The same goes for the plates of food: a French dip sandwich with a Caesar salad, and wings with onion rings. The rooms around them are imagined, and so are the lake, the dock, the bench and the highway. Any people shown are made up, and no casino logo appears in any picture.

Visit counting and what it sees

No cookies from the North Shore desk's guide land on a reader's device. There are no forms to fill in and no accounts to open. Each page is served by the guide itself, with nothing pulled in from other websites.

The guide's calculators work entirely in the reader's browser and send nothing out. The evening budget calculator, for one, uses only what is typed in: a sum of money and how many hours the evening lasts. A chosen theme is kept only while the tab stays open.
